Matrix IT is a publicly traded Israeli Information Technology (IT) company operating globally in the fields of IT solutions and services, consulting, and management. The Matrix Group provides services in the areas of banking and finance, government and the public sector, security, transportation, high-tech and startups, health, industry, retail and trade, education and academia. The Group is also engaged in the sale and marketing of software and hardware products from a wide range of manufacturers, as well as in the provision of consulting services, project management and multidisciplinary engineering consulting. 

The company is controlled by Israeli information technology group Formula Systems (1985) Ltd. (NASDAQ and TASE: FORTY), which provides extensive services and works in close cooperation with the Israeli Ministry of Defense, the Israeli military, the security forces, and the defense industries.

In March 2025, Matrix announced the acquisition of Magic Software Enterprises Ltd. (TASE and NASDAQ: MGIC), making it one of the largest public IT companies in the world.

The company provides various computing services and products to the Israeli Ministry of Defense, the Israeli military, and security forces, including the Israel Police, Border Police and the Israel Prison Service. 

Through its subsidiaries, the company provides computing services and equipment to the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, including to the Israeli Civil Administration in the occupied West Bank, and has previously provided to the Israeli military District Coordination and Liaison in Gaza. 

Services to Settlements 

The company’s fully owned subsidiary, Matrix I.T. Global Services Ltd. (formerly Talpiot) is located in the settlement of Modi’in Illit in the occupied West Bank. The center, established in 2005, was previously named “Talpiot” after the Israeli military’s elite training program unit.

In 2020, the company’s fully owned subsidiary, Matrix I.T. Integration & Infrastructures Ltd., provided computing services for Ariel university, located in the settlement of Ariel in the occupied West Bank. 

Services to the Israeli Military 

The company provides various services and products to the Israeli Ministry of Defense (IMOD), the Israeli military and security forces. 

Matrix's Defense division is engaged in projects for the IMOD and Israeli security forces. The division provides services for the Israeli military, the IMOD and the Israeli defense industries, as well as abroad. The company provides services to the Israeli Air Force, the Israeli Navy, the Military Intelligence Directorate, the Directorate of Defense Research & Development, and the Israel Prison Service, and Israeli weapon companies, Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), Rafael Advanced Defense Systems and Elbit Systems, which provide weapons for the Israeli military. 

Gaza

Since the beginning of the ongoing Israeli attack on Gaza in October 2023, the company has increased its activity and provided fitted services to the IMOD and the defense industries. The company has expanded its services and contract with the IMOD and increased the sales of software products it provides for it. 

Services to the Israeli Weapon Industry 

In addition to consulting, Matrix Defense is involved in projects in the fields of defense, intelligence, web intelligence and cyber in collaboration with security agencies, which in some cases are later sold to foreign countries.

The company is involved in building central systems for the security industries and operates an Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Excellence Center that works in collaboration with the Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and other security agencies, developing solutions based on artificial intelligence, machine learning and big data, integrated into a variety of systems, incluidng AI solutions for automatic target identification on the future battlefield, expanding the capabilities and performance of existing systems and developing innovation capabilities based on automated systems. In the past year, the company's scope of activity has increased significantly, and it was included by order of the Minister of Defense as a defense industry directly supervised by the IMOD

The company was founded by a senior Brigadier General of the Air Force's fighter pilots. The company chairman is a retired major general who was, among others, the commander of the military Judea and Samaria Division in the occupied West Bank.

Service for the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) 

Matrix I.T. and its fully owned subsidiaries, Matrix IT Advanced Information Systems and Matrix IT Integration & Infrastructures, provide computing services and equipment to the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), including to the Israeli Civil Administration (ICA) in the occupied West Bank, and the Israeli military District Coordination and Liaison (DCL or DCO) in Gaza. 

Israeli Civil Administration 

The company provides the ICA with computers, computing services, consultants and system analysts, including for systems used for monitoring and data collection and biometric identification of Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza. The ICA headquarters is located in the settlement of Beit El in the occupied West Bank.

Meitar System

Matrix provides computing equipment for the Meitar biometric system, which is used to monitor the movement of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. The Meitar system is used by the Israeli Civil Administration to issue biometric ID cards that Palestinians are compelled to use at Israeli checkpoints in the occupied West Bank. The cards contain personal identifying information and are part of the identification technology array used by the Israeli military in checkpoints. The use of biometric identification technology by the Israeli military in checkpoints is part of the deployment of surveillance practices and technologies used for population control and spatial monitoring of Palestinians by Israel. In September 2024, the company was contracted to provide the ICA with computers for the Meitar biometric project for NIS 136,663. In December 2021, the company provided the ICA with computer screens for checkpoints for NIS 79,243. In 2018, the company provided computer screens for the Meitar System for NIS 40,159. 

Wisdom Stone System 

The company provides system analysts and computing consultants for the ICA’s “Wisdom Stone” system. The Wisdom Stone is a computerized information system used by the ICA and DCL Gaza to monitor and collect data on Palestinian residents in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip as part of Israel's permit regime enforced in the oPt. The system centralizes information documenting previous permit applications submitted, "disqualifications" imposed on individuals, the dates of a person's entry into Israel, and more. In addition, the system is used by soldiers of the unit to revoke a permit granted to a person or group of people. In January 2024, the company was contracted to provide the ICA with system analyst for the Wisdom Stone until January 2025 for NIS 804,960. In January 2023, the company was contracted to provide the system analyst until January 2024 for NIS 696,555. Between 2018 and 2020, the company provided the ICA with computing consultants for the system for NIS 1,152,876.

In March 2024 and December 2023, the company provided the ICA with cloud switch management system for NIS 31,550 and NIS 142,9077, respectively. In January 2024, the company provided the ICA with Android tablets for ICT inventory management for NIS 7,145. 

In December 2023, the company provided the ICA with Gigabit Interface Converters (GBIC) for a new civic network for NIS 99,757. In June 2023 and June 2022, the company provided the ICA with computers for a biometric project for NIS 2,277 and NIS 121,156. 

In February 2022, the company was contracted to provide the ICA with development of software to monitor illegal construction until end of December 2023 for NIS 684,999. Also in 2022, the company provided the ICA with systems analyst for NIS 615,109 and switches for NIS 69,442. 

In 2021, the company provided the ICA with computing service providers for NIS 424,709 and desk computers and equipment for NIS 154,709. In 2020, the company provided the ICA with computing service providers for NIS 270,270, computers for NIS 29,615 and workstation for Geographic Information System (GIS) for NIS 14,807. 

Between 2016 and 2020, the company provided the ICA with routers, communication equipment, computers and computer screens for a total of NIS 571,042. Between 2016 and 2017, the company provided the ICA with computing consultants for a biometric project for a total of NIS 907,507. 

In 2017, the company provided services for a project for “biometric identification of Palestinians in the West Bank” for NIS 22,806.

Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories 

The company provides the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) with computing services, computers, tablets, computer monitors, and communication equipment. 

In 2024, the company provided COGAT with computing equipment and services for a total of NIS 28,655. In 2023, the company provided computing equipment and services for a total of NIS 74,062; In 2022, for NIS 54, 562; In 2021, for NIS 40,602; and in 2020, for NIS 33,960.

District Coordination and Liaison Office in Gaza

The company has provided computers and screens to the Israeli military District Coordination and Liaison Office (DCL or DCO) in Gaza, which manages and monitors the movement of Palestinians in the oPt, among others. Until October 2023, the DCL office was located at Erez Checkpoint, which was the only land crossing between the besieged Gaza Strip and Israel and the West Bank since the Israeli siege on the Gaza Strip. 

In 2022, the company provided DCL Gaza with computers for NIS 4,644. In 2019, the company provided DCL Gaza with screens for NIS 7,004. Between 2016 and 2018, the company provided computers and screens for NIS 51,610.

Project Nimbus

In February 2024, Matrix won a tender to provide SAP BTP (SAP Business Technology Platform) solution in the Nimbus government cloud. As part of the tender, Matrix will provide SAP's platform on Google Cloud for government ministries, trust units and public sector entities.

The SAP BTP platform is a cloud platform (SaaS) that will allow government organizations access to a variety of advanced capabilities through data management, application development, and advanced analytics capabilities combined with artificial intelligence.

Project Nimbus is a large-scale project for the provision of public cloud computing services and centralization of government databases for the Israeli government as part of the computing system of government ministries and bodies, including to the Israeli Ministry of Defense, the Israeli military, Israel Police and the Israel Prison Service. The project also includes services to the state-owned companies Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, which supply weapon systems to the Israeli military.

Matrix’s partners in the Nimbus project include IBM’s fully owned Israeli subsidiary, Red Hat Israel, which works extensively with the Israeli military.

Training Courses for the Israeli Military 

The company’s fully owned subsidiary, John Bryce Training, has won a tender from the Ministry of Defense to provide a variety of professional training in the fields of information security and cyber for the Ministry of Defense’s Computer Professions School, which is the main unit for training soldiers in the field of computing in the Israeli military. The financial scope of the agreement is estimated at approximately 1.8 million NIS per year and is expected to last for 3 years, with a total scope of approximately 5 million NIS.

The company offers courses to prepare for service in the technological units in the Israeli military, intended for students in the ninth grade and above, including the Intelligence Corps, Unit 8200, the ICT Corps, and the Air Force. The course instructors are graduates of military technological units or former members of the Ministry of Defense. 

Since 2015, the company’s fully owned subsidiary, John Bryce Training Ltd., has been the training contractor in the Israel Police National Training Center project for the concessionaire from the Shikun & Binui Group.

In 2017, the company’s fully owned subsidiary, John Bryce Training Ltd., won a 3-year tender to provide training for the Israeli army around Cyber Security and Information Security.

The company offers Information Security and Cyber studies to the public which according to its website are delivered in a unique simulator that is used to train soldiers in Israeli military cyber units. 

“Combatants for Hi-Tech” 

The company's fully owned subsidiary, Matrix DNA, is operating a training course for combatant soldiers to integrate them into the technology industry upon their release from the military. The course offers technological product management training for combatant soldiers as part of the Israeli military General Staff program and the "Combatants to High-Tech" program. 

In September 2024, the course was adapted for reservists from the combat system, from which 21 warriors aged 24-31 who had fought in Gaza after October 2023 were selected.

In August 2024, Matrix took part in a professional training course in the field of cyber and programming which was designed to train combatant soldiers with battlefield experience who were injured in battle and were forced to transfer to a rear-line role in the army to integrate them into the military's technological array. The course is operated in collaboration with the technological units of the military's Telecommunications and Information Technology Unit (Lotem Unit).

IT For IDF

In 2024, Matrix IT sponsored the “IT For IDF” conference. The conference was on the topic of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in the field of operational systems and combat support systems to improve the effectiveness of the Israeli military, in the context of the deadly Israeli military offensive on Gaza.

Services for the Israel Police

In May 2024, Matrix was awarded a tender from the Israel Police for the purchase of computer peripherals, memory devices, computers and unique printers. 

Between 2019 and 2021, the company provided the Israel Police and the Border Police with computers and tablets, computer peripherals, communications equipment and body cameras for a total of NIS 56,224,567.

In 2020, the company provided equipment for police stations and police activity in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem for a total amount of NIS 76,876, including in the Jordan Valley area and the Palestinian neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah in East Jerusalem. In 2019, the company provided equipment for a police station in the settlement of Modiin Illit in the West Bank for NIS 10,043. 

In 2020, the company provided equipment worth NIS 4,404 for the "Ring" checkpoint (Anata/al-Esawiyah) in the Jerusalem Envelope operated by the Israel Police. 

Also in 2020, the company provided the Border Police with communication equipment for activity in the West Bank, for a training base in the settlement of Michmash in the occupied West Bank, and for a project in Atarot in occupied East Jerusalem, for a total amount of NIS 17,251. 

Services for the Israel Prison Service 

Matrix established the Israel Prison Service's Server Farm. 

In July 2023, the company won a tender by the Israel Prison Service (IPS) for establishing a primary and secondary server farm for the Prison Service for NIS 10 million. In 2022, the company began the process of planning the establishment of the project together with the IPS' division and in cooperation with Bynet Communications. The volume of data processed and stored in the new server farm is hundreds of terabytes and it serves approximately 10,000 IPS employees. The establishment was completed in May 2024.

The company provides the IPS with Business Object Enterprise Report Generator software. In December 2024, the company was exempted from tender for renewal of maintenance contract for the IPS from January 2025 until end of December 2027 for NIS 1,372,547. In September 2023, the company was exempted from tender for renewal of maintenance contract for Enterprise Report Generator for the IPS until end of December 2024 for NIS 42,507. In 2021, the company was contracted as sole supplier for maintenance for Business Object Enterprise Report Generator software licensing for three years. 

In February 2023, the company was awarded a tender for computerizing the pharmacies of the Israel Prison Service to supply the IPS with an information system for supply chain management of medicines and equipment for 785,000 NIS.

In November 2022, the company was contracted with an exemption from tender to provide a platform to support unstructured data processing from the IPS' systems until November 2025 for NIS 600,000.

In November 2021, the company’s fully owned subsidiary Matrix I.T. Software Products, was contracted by the IPS, with an exemption from tender, to renew a contract for the maintenance of Organizational Report Generator from 2022 until the end of 2024 for NIS 886,274. 

In 2020, the company was contracted by the IPS for the provision of Linux System maintenance until 2023. 

Between 2015 and 2019, the company’s fully owned subsidiary, John Bryce Training, provided the IPS with training, advanced computing courses and workshops for NIS 385,133.

Services for Government Offices 

The company's fully owned subsidiary, Matrix IT Integration and Infrastructure, provides servers and data storage systems to the Israeli government offices. 

In 2016, the company was awarded a central tender for the supply of servers and data storage systems to government offices, which was extended from time to time. In January 2024, the contract was extended, with exemption from tender, until the end of June 2024 for NIS 10,000,000.
