Settlements Vineyards
Psagot Winery was established in 2003 by Yaakov Berg in the settlement of Psagot on lands belonging to the Palestinian city of Al-Bireh in the occupied West Bank. In 2020, the winery relocated from Psagot to the Sha’ar Binyamin settlement Industrial Zone in the Mateh Binyamin settlement Regional Council. The winery was initially based on vineyards located around the settlement of Psagot, which were planted on private land belonging to the residents of Al-Bireh, who were denied access to their land by an electric fence illegally built around the settlement and repeated settler violence. According to "Kerem Navot" organization, the Berg family took over 84 dunams of private Palestinian land, which belonged to the residents of Al-Bireh and used it for some of its vineyards. The family received water allocations for these areas at reduced prices, and with the infrastructure of the Mekorot company.
