The company develops and provides armored vehicles for military, law enforcement and civilian use worldwide.

The company is a key supplier of armored military vehicles to the Israeli military.

MDT manufactures the “David” and the “Tiger”, two military ultra-light armored personnel carriers and Light Armored Vehicles.

The MDT David is the most common armored vehicle in the Israeli military and is used as a patrol, command, and fighters' transport vehicle by all of the military’s sectors. It has been in use by the Israeli military and Border Police for 20 years. The David has become the standard patrol and reconnaissance vehicle of the Israeli military, deployed by the hundreds in Gaza and the West Bank, and along Israel’s border with Lebanon. It is also used by the Border Police in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.

David’s armored capsule is mounted mainly on Toyota Hilux commercial pickups, as well as Toyota Land Cruiser or Land Rover Defender pickup trucks. The David vehicle is designed to negotiate narrow urban streets and alleys in urban areas. David can carry four to six soldiers in full battle gear, and has gun ports in all 4 directions.

The 'Tiger' armored vehicle is based on Ford and Dodge heavy duty pickups and other Heavy Duty platforms.

On October 19, 2023, the Israeli Ministry of Defense received delivery of the first batch of MDT Armor David 4×4 light armored vehicles set to replace those damaged during the current military invasion of Gaza. The shipment was part of a U.S Foreign Military Sale (FMS) awarded in April 2023, to MDT Armor, for a total value of USD 21,913,585, with the company awarded the contract for the production and supply of "David" vehicles to the Israeli military. The supply is to be carried out until the end of September 2025.

In 2023, the David was documented in Israeli military raids in Tulkarm Refugee Camp and the city of Nablus in the occupied West Bank.

On May 11, 2022, Al Jazeera reporter Shireen Abu Akleh was shot dead by the Israeli military in Jenin while reporting a military raid on the nearby refugee camp. Shots fired directly at a group of journalists from a gunport in a Toyota MDT David vehicle hit Shireen Abu Akleh in the head, fatally wounding her.

In July 2021, the U.S. Department of Defense awarded a sole supplier contract worth about USD 10 million to MDT Armor for the production and supply of about 65-70 David vehicles to the Israeli military. The project is budgeted through the U.S. foreign military sales program.
