Listings on Airbnb website were found in illegal settlements on occupied Palestinian and Syrian land.
Properties on the company’s website in the occupied West Bank include the settlements of Avnei Hefetz, Kdumim, Har Bracha, Itamar, Mehora, Ari’el, Ma’ale Levona, Eli, Shiloh, Ofra, Har Adar, Matityahu, Giv’at Ze’ev, Giv’on HaHadasha, Oranit, Elkana, Barkan, Sha’arei Tikva, Karnei Shomron, Ets Efraim, Alei Zahav, Na’ale, Ma’ale Adumim, Neve Daniel, Elazar Gush Etsion, Efrat, Tekoa, Alon Shvut, Bat Ayin, Neve Erez, Kfar Adumim, Kalia (Kalya), Avnat, Otniel, Kiryat Arba, Nokdim, Almon (Anatot), Rimonim, Hashmona’im, Netiv HaGdud, Petza’el (Fatsa’el), Kida, Ma’ale Shomron, Zufim, Shadmot Mehola, Yakir and Elon Moreh.
Properties were also found in the settlements of El-Rum, Merom Golan, Ein Zivan, Ani’am, Kidmat Tsvi, Katzrin, Ramat Magshimim, Nov, Avnei Eitan, Eliad, Bnei Yehuda, Afik, Ma’ale Gamla, Ramot, Mevo Hama, Meizar, Kfar Ezion and Ma’ale Michmash in the occupied Syrian Golan.
Additionally, listings were found in settlement neighborhoods in East Jerusalem including Gilo, Har Homa (Homat Shmuel), Ramot Alon (Ramot), Pisgat Ze’ev, French Hill (Giv’at Shapira), Ma’alot Dafna, East Talpiot (Armon HaNatziv), Ramat Eshkol and Ramat Shlomo. Additionally, listings were also found in the Old City in occupied East Jerusalem.
The company misrepresents the majority of these settlement properties as located in “Israel”. Users can rent and book rooms, apartments, houses or villas on Airbnb in illegal settlements in the occupied Palestinian and Syrian territories, without being informed of the legal and ethical implications of such an action.
