A global IT outsourcing, system integration and consulting services provider. Their Israeli subsidiary, EDS Israel, is the prime contractor in the Basel Project: to develop, install and continuously support an automatic biometric access control system in major checkpoints (valued at 8-10 million USD). The system includes a permit system for Palestinian workers, with hand and facial recognition, and it was financed by the US government following the Wye River Memorandum.
The subcontractors were: EDS Access Control Solutions Div, Credentia, Oberthur Smart Cards USA, Team Computers, OTI Israel, The DataCard Group, Visionics, RSI and Eshed Engineers. The system was first installed in 2004 in the Erez checkpoint , later in Sha'ar Ephraim checkpoint, Bethleham and other West Bank checkpoints.
